One day, it followed Mary to school, but the lamb was not allowed inside because the school didn't entertain pets. This song originated in the 19th century. A statue representing Mary's Little Lamb stands in the town centre of Massachusetts. This song also has a relation with the great scientist, Thomas Alva Edison, who recorded the song in his then-recent invention, phonograph.
